Who Do We Treat At East Nashville Pelvic Health?
Every week at East Nashville Pelvic Health, we have the privilege of meeting incredible women from our community and helping them on their unique healing journeys.
Whether it’s a first time mom navigating unexpected challenges, someone who has never had kids navigating disruptive pelvic floor symptoms or a seasoned mother seeking answers they've never found - each story reminds us why personalized, empathetic care matters so deeply.

Over the past two weeks alone, we've welcomed women with diverse experiences and needs - all united by their desire to feel strong, confident, and empowered in their bodies again. Today, we want to share a glimpse into the real people behind the conditions we treat (without using any names).
The Women We've Welcomed Recently
6 Weeks Postpartum: This mom came to see me after experiencing a grade 4 perineal tear during delivery. At her first visit, we assessed scar mobility and pelvic floor strength. I also referred her back to her OB to discuss vaginal estrogen for healing support. From there, we began gentle scar massage to the perineum and built in core and hip strengthening exercises to help restore strength and function throughout her whole body.
2nd Trimester Birth Prep: During our sessions, we focused on helping her connect with and understand her pelvic floor, learning how to both activate and relax those muscles. We incorporated hip mobility drills to keep the pelvis moving well and improve flexibility of the hips in preparation for delivery. We also reviewed safe ways to brace and strengthen her core during pregnancy and exercise, giving her tools to feel strong and confident heading into birth.
C-Section Scar Pain after 2nd Child: This mom came to me after her cesarean delivery. We started by working on desensitizing her scar so she could comfortably tolerate touch and progress to deeper treatments. From there, we introduced scar mobilization techniques, including gentle massage and cupping. Alongside scar work, we focused on rebuilding her core strength, supporting healing of diastasis recti, and helping her feel confident lifting both her newborn and toddler without pain.
Hip and Low Back Pain During Exercise: This patient had never been pregnant but came in with ongoing low back and hip pain that hadn’t improved with traditional PT. During her pelvic floor assessment, we were able to calm down her symptoms and uncover the root cause. Her treatment included dry needling to the low back and hips, manual therapy to the tailbone and pelvic floor muscles, and abdominovisceral mobilization to support both gut health and pelvic pain relief.
Post Menopause Leaking: This active woman began noticing urinary leakage in her 60s, years after going through menopause and long after having her children. She was frustrated and unsure why the symptoms had started. In our sessions, we focused on improving hip strength, restoring rib cage mobility, and making simple diet and habit changes. These strategies helped decrease her symptoms so she could return to living life without worry or needing to stay close to a bathroom.
Pelvic floor physical therapy isn't just about birth prep and postpartum recovery. At East Nashville Pelvic Health, we treat any woman experiencing pelvic dysfunction. From painful intimacy to lower back pain, from sciatica to bladder control concerns. In fact, we have a comprehensive list of all the conditions we treat right here on our website!
But more importantly than the symptoms we address are the real results we achieve together. What better way to share those outcomes than directly from the women we've had the honor to serve:
